The story
The square format — 100 × 100 cm — gives the painting a concentrated, almost iconic presence. Halytskyi treats the canvas as a space of confrontation: the figure is not simply represented, but revealed through layers of paint, rhythm, texture, and emotional pressure.
In Halytskyi's practice, painting often functions as a form of performance: the brushstroke carries the energy of action, while the surface preserves the drama of the moment. In this work, the artist looks not only at himself, but through himself — turning portraiture into a philosophical investigation of identity, time, and human vulnerability.
A work for a collector interested not only in image, but in the living presence of the artist inside the painting.
